Best of Batches 1 through 9

Here are a selection from the first nine batches of photos. I've removed the rest of the photos from our web server since I have so many new photos to add. Don't worry: the original scans have been archived. If there's a particular photo you want, just let me know and I can email it to you. Some of these are only thumb-prints, so you can't click on them.

Peter & Anne-Lise's apartment in Seattle Peter & Anne-Lise's apartment in Seattle. They lived on the bottom floor and the landlady lived on the top floor of what was originally a house. The view out the window was amazing. Taken not long before they left. I used Phoenix's Canon 630 with a 28-70 mm zoom lens on Kodak Royal Gold 1000 film.
Mt. Ranier A postcard-like view of Mount Ranier from a park near Peter & Anne-Lise's apartment in Seattle. This is taken on a very clear day, which isn't that common even in summer. This is only one of several mountains you can see from Seattle. I used Phoenix's Canon 630 with a 28-70 mm zoom lens on Kodak Royal Gold 1000 film.
Pook We have an enlargement of this photo framed in the kitchen. This picture was taken on the way home from a hike in Seattle we took with Annie and friends while visiting Seattle after we moved to Silicon Valley. They didn't know I was capturing the moment on film. I like the path receding into the distance.
A building in Tokyo An old (pre-WW II) wooden building near Ken & Katie's old apartment in Tokyo. This building burned down after Kotty & returned home from our trip to Japan. Note the "dead end" sign. Across the street is the back entrance to a nice sushi restaurant where we ate once. A truck delivered blocks of ice to the restaurant every day. Taken by Kotty with her Yashica T4 on Fujicolor 400 film.
Run! This is supposed to look like Kotty running away from an approaching train. We took this picture in the Akihabara district of Tokyo, about a mile from Ken & Katie's old apartment. The front few feet of an old steam locomotive decorates the side of the JR Railways office. JR operates many the cummuter rail lines in Japan. They do have some stream excursion runs but we didn't ride on any. Fuji Neopan 1600 film.
Katie in a beautiful, peaceful park in Tokyo. Fuji Neopan 1600 film.

Nein is born! Peter & Anne-Lise taking delivery of their new 4-door 1997 Acura Integra GS-R. If you remember the old advertisement featuring several Germans at an outdoor cafe in Europe mistaking an Acura for a German car, you'll understand why she was christened "Nein". Fuji Velvia film.
